How Bookly collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when customers discover and book beauty and wellness services and when providers manage their business through our platform.

SALON LADIES AND SPA BOOKLY L.L.C., trading as “Bookly” (“Bookly”, “we”, “us” or “our”), is committed to handling personal information fairly, transparently and securely.
This Privacy Policy explains the types of personal information we process, why we process it, who we may share it with, how long we retain it and the choices available to you.
For the purposes of applicable UAE data protection law, Bookly acts as a controller for information processed to operate and improve the Platform. A service provider may separately act as a controller for information it receives in connection with an appointment or service.
2. Personal information we collect
Information provided by customers
- Name, email address, mobile number, profile image and account credentials.
- Booking details, selected services, preferred provider, appointment date and time, notes and booking history.
- Payment and transaction information, excluding full card details where payment is handled by an authorised payment processor.
- Reviews, ratings, support enquiries, complaints and communications.
- Location or area information when used to discover nearby providers.
Information provided by service providers
- Business name, owner or representative details, contact information and business address.
- Trade licence, identity or verification documents where required.
- Services, prices, staff profiles, schedules, availability, images and business descriptions.
- Bank or payout details, transaction records and tax-related information where applicable.
- Customer appointment records, provider communications and account activity.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, device type, operating system, browser, app version and language settings.
- Login times, pages or screens viewed, booking interactions, crash reports and diagnostic data.
- Cookie, analytics and similar technology data, subject to available consent controls.
3. How we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- Create, verify and manage customer and provider accounts.
- Display providers, services, pricing and available appointment slots.
- Process, confirm, modify and cancel bookings.
- Facilitate communications between customers and providers.
- Process payments, refunds, payouts and transaction records.
- Provide customer support, resolve complaints and prevent misuse.
- Send booking confirmations, reminders, security notices and service updates.
- Personalise search results and improve the Platform.
- Detect fraud, unauthorised access, suspicious activity and violations of our Terms.
- Comply with applicable laws, regulatory requests and legal obligations.
4. Legal basis and consent
Depending on the circumstances, we process personal information because it is necessary to provide the Platform or perform a contract, because you have provided consent, because processing is required by law, or because it supports a legitimate business purpose that does not override your rights.
Where consent is required, you may withdraw it through available account settings or by contacting us. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.
5. How personal information is shared
We may share relevant information with:
- Customers and providers: information needed to request, confirm and fulfil an appointment.
- Payment processors: information required to process payments, refunds or provider payouts.
- Technology suppliers: hosting, cloud storage, analytics, messaging, customer support, identity verification and security providers.
- Professional advisers: auditors, insurers, accountants and legal advisers where reasonably necessary.
- Authorities: regulators, courts, law-enforcement bodies or government entities where disclosure is legally required.
- Corporate transactions: a buyer, investor or successor in connection with a merger, financing, restructuring or sale, subject to appropriate confidentiality safeguards.
Bookly does not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of selling data for money.
6. Payments
Payments may be processed by third-party payment service providers. Bookly may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, card type and limited billing details, but should not store full payment-card numbers or security codes unless expressly stated and lawfully authorised.

7. Location and device permissions
With your permission, Bookly may use approximate or precise location information to show nearby providers, calculate distance or improve search results. You can manage location permissions through your device settings, although some location-based features may then be unavailable.
The app may also request access to notifications, camera or photo library only when needed for features such as appointment reminders, profile images or provider portfolios.
8. Communications and marketing
We may send operational messages that are necessary for your account or bookings. Promotional messages will be sent in accordance with applicable requirements and available consent preferences.
You may unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link, disable push notifications through your device, or update communication preferences in your account. You may still receive essential transactional or security messages.
9. Data retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including account management, booking fulfilment, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, accounting, legal compliance and enforcement of agreements.
Retention periods may vary by data type. Information may be anonymised or securely deleted when it is no longer required, subject to lawful record-keeping obligations.
10. Information security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, misuse or disclosure.
No internet or electronic storage system is completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should notify Bookly immediately of suspected unauthorised activity.
11. International data transfers
Some service providers or infrastructure may be located outside the United Arab Emirates. Where personal information is transferred internationally, Bookly will take appropriate steps required by applicable law to protect the information and ensure a lawful transfer mechanism is used.
12. Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law and relevant exceptions, you may have the right to:
- Request information about how your personal information is processed.
- Access or obtain a copy of certain personal information.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of information that is no longer lawfully required.
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
- Request transfer of information where legally applicable.
- Object to certain automated processing decisions where applicable.
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. Requests may be submitted using the contact details below or through the in-app account deletion function, where available.
13. Children’s privacy
The Platform is not intended for children who cannot legally consent to its use. A parent or legal guardian should make and manage bookings for a minor where required. Bookly does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children in violation of applicable law.
14. Third-party websites and provider practices
The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, maps, social networks or provider pages. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Providers are independently responsible for personal information they collect outside the Bookly Platform or use for their own business purposes.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational, legal or regulatory changes. The revised version will be posted with a new “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
